Cardinal Allen Catholic High School has a very strict and outdated school policy. A new rule has been introduced about 'a skirt ban'. this rule reinforces that girls who have been caught with there skirts too short must wear trousers. Many girls  disagree with this rule as it knocks there confidence and comfortability which may already be low for some pupils at Cardinal Allen Catholic High School.

The school uniform policy on the Cardinal Allen Catholic High School states 'The length of the skirt should respect normal standards of modesty bearing in mind the practical nature of work in a mixed high school'. This sentence is very wrong and oppressive to young girls.  Within this statement it says 'normal standards of modesty' this is implying that if a girls skirt is too short it is immodest which is showing a bad example for all pupils and there outlook on woman's bodies.

As well as this there is a school policy about boys haircuts. This policy follows 'not patterned, stepped or shaved, spiked or beaded, and cut no shorter than a number 2. Hair which is too long - either in the eyes or over collar length, is not permitted.' Many pupils would agree with saying that this rule is not justifiable. Boys cannot have there hair too short for no reason at all. There is also a rule that boys cannot have there hair too long because it looks 'scruffy'. However, this is double standards as girls can have their hair long.

The school moto states 'be all you can be' although this is very hard for pupils to express themselves with these outdated school rules.
