Offer Citywide Curbside Cleanup in Richfield, MN

Offer Citywide Curbside Cleanup in Richfield, MN
The Issue
The Richfield City Council has the authority to offer bulk curbside pick up for residents of our city. Currently, homeowners do not have the option to place bulk items out for pick up. This creates an unnecessary burden for homeowners to to have junk hauled away. Items such as mattresses and box springs, old appliances, unwanted furniture, tires and more sit around homes creating clutter, and oftentimes may end up in the back yard, or dumped illegally.
Other major cities like Bloomington and Minneapolis offer this valuable service and residents who opt in, pay just a few dollars a month via their water bill.
The city of Richfield would benefit by eliminating junk and debris from collecting in homes and yards, curb illegal dumping and provide a much needed service.
Next steps will be to present our signatures to the Community Services Commission, and attend an upcoming meeting in order for them to recommend to the City Council. They meet monthly. Please sign the petition if you are in favor of this service being offered.
Thank you.
