8th of May 2018 THE DA DENIES TRANSPARENCY AND OPENNESS BY EXPELLING MAYOR PATRICIA DE LILLE ON A TECHNICALITY Dear supporters of this petition Thank you for your continued support. Our petition now stands at 1,783 supporters and growing each day. As a DA voter I (and I am sure many thousands), feel cheated by the DA FedEx. I feel cheated because I wanted Mayor De Lille to have the opportunity to clear her good name. I expected the DA to have the disciplinary hearing of Mayor De Lille in an open and transparent forum. This did not happen. There are many documents relating to the De Lille charges which we as voters would like to read. For example, the 30-page letter which counsellor JP Smith wrote to Mr. Maimane and the DA FedEx when he accused Mayor De Lille of many irregularities. Aunty Pat has the constitutional right to defend herself against all the false allegations in an open court, and I hope she succeeds in getting her day in court to get a fair hearing. As voters, we can never trust the DA again with our votes in 2019. What the DA has done against Aunty Pat, is unforgivable. She worked exceptionally hard as the Mayoral candidate in the 2016 local elections and to rob her of this position in such a cowardly way is despicable. Keep on fighting Aunty Pat!
