Having a vehicle is a convenient tool for a lot of people. Our vehicles allow us to travel and move from places we want to go. It is essential because it is an easy mode of transportation. Getting from one place to another has never been more accessible and easier than before. Having said that, parking has been an integral part of having a vehicle. It is necessary to have a parking space before acquiring or getting a vehicle. Nowadays you see a lot of cars parking on sidewalks. We have observed our chosen community, Pasig City for this petition. A lot of different areas of Pasig City have been known to have a lot of vehicles having illegal parking on the sidewalk. Hence, it is why our petition is to spread awareness that illegal parking on the sidewalk is not good for the community.

•  Our petition will be a big help and would benefit the car owners and the residents of Pasig city, who wouldn’t want to worry less about the illegal parking that would arise a lot of problems in the community. Car owners would be aware of this and would even help the community to practice safe and legal parking or else there will be consequences. More importantly, this will benefit the residents living in that area.
•   Maintaining a clear and safe roadway is not an easy task, so we are seeking assistance from the local government officials such as the city government of Pasig, The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), The Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO) and Barangay Officials on signing our petition on implementing a 5am-10am time of no illegal parking on the street in Pasig City, to better guarantee the safety of all people in the community. MMDA and TPMO are permitted to clear road and sidewalk obstructions, as well as tow vehicles involved in accidents, stalled vehicles, and cars illegally parking on the sidewalks.
• The Barangay Officials should also exercise their authority to discipline their own people and not expect the National Government to monitor and discipline barangays when they already have the power to help the community to get better.
• Our society would be much better and safer if both the residents and the officials worked for hand in hand together. We are the students who are in a Catholic Institution and would like to say that we can make a difference no matter how hard the challenges are. We would like to encourage everyone to support this petition and be ready for the changes that can happen.
