Extend Protective Baseball Netting in MLB Ballparks

Extend Protective Baseball Netting in MLB Ballparks

The Issue

Last night, Chicago Cub, Albert Almora accidentally struck a 4 year old girl with a foul ball.

And this is not the first time a fan has been crushed by a foul ball, including young children.

Just last year a 2 year old girl got hit by a foul ball at a Yankees game.

While the MLB shifted regulations in 2018 to further extend protective netting, it clearly wasn’t enough.

Expensive tickets with 100% unobstructed views are not worth a fans livelihood and wellness. It’s hard enough to go to a home game just to watch your team lose.

In the same way that driving on the road is not safe, baseball will not always be safe for both the fans and the players. However, that’s why traffic lights and turning signals exist.

There is no reason for this to happen again. If you want a clear view, sit in the bleachers - you’ll have more fun there anyways.
