This might seem like the selfish act of a long-suffering fan, but in fact the opposite is true. Indeed, my motives are purely altruistic. I would love nothing more than to witness another 100+ Cubs victories this season as they march triumphantly through the regular season and playoffs. But do the Barves, Broors, et al really need to be forced to watch five more months of this? Is it really fair for the Pirates to lose yet another Wild Card game at home? Of course not. And that's why I've started this petition. It's very obvious that the Cubs have already established themselves as the best team of all time, so let's do what we can to replace the collective frustration with early coronation.
