REASONS TO SIGN: Jose Bautista is an aging MLB slugger, whom deserves one last go around before he retires. Yes, at age 40, Bautista may not seem like a likely candidate for an MLB team. However, Jose is an electric figure who plays the game with a passion and can create an energy within a clubhouse wherever he goes. He is still working and grinding behind the scenes, waiting for his opportunity to shine one last time. Not to mention, Bautista has been working to return as a potential 2 way player, with a fastball on the mound running up to 95 mph! My proposal is to have the Toronto Blue Jays sign him to a 1 year deal to provide a spark for the young Blue Jays team. With this signing, Bautista will provide expertise and knowledge for the next generation of Blue Jays players. He can play a utility type role on the team to help chip in and make one last run at the World Series in his career. However at the bare minimum, a one day deal is necessary so Bautista can have the proper sendoff he deserves in a city he did so much for.
