Westlake Avenue Neighbors Need Access to Sidewalk

The Issue

Disabled residents, Seniors and other residents who live on South Westlake Avenue are unable to use the sidewalk because there is a homeless encampment at  the southwest corner of Beverly Blvd and Westlake Avenue, blocking sidewalk access  and violating the public right of way for disabled persons, in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act.  Many of the residents  who are unable to use the sidewalk are Seniors and families with small children.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to  relocate the occupants  of the encampment to shelter with supportive services, medical care, and other humane and necessary resources, under the Project Roomkey program.  We are compassionate citizens who wish to see a reasonable balance between the rights of the unhoused and the rights of the Disabled persons to have access to the public right of way.

Please sign our petition in support of a safer walkable street and compassionate care and shelter for the unhoused.
