URGENT: Request for signatures to protect walking path on Kite Hill

The Elysian Heights trail on Kite Hill from the Baxter stairs to Avon Terrace has been a beloved walking path and community sanctuary since the 1940s. It is a thriving native habitat and home to protected trees while being a friend to birds and wildlife and it's also part of the Santa Monica Mountains.

The parcel in the center of kite hill is the one facing development.  It is landlocked so any construction requires approval from the city of LA for the building of a raised roadway that will extend from a substandard hillside street directly adjacent to the Lautner Salkin house, a historical monument. This case is pending and continued due to the need for environmental studies.

We believe the land should be protected from development and and preserved for public use. We are working with the Santa Monica Mountain Conservancy to make this dream into reality.

Please join us in a unified effort to keep Kite Hill on the map!
