Confirm our US Ambassador to Sierra Leone

Do you know that scores of US Ambassadorship are vacant while vetted nominees are awaiting confirmation by the Senate? That means that nearly one quarter of the countries where we have US Embassies are currently without an Ambassador and some have been waiting for over a year! Why are so many of our Embassies without leadership and how is this impacting our foreign relations?
John Hoover has been waiting the longest. Mr. Hoover, a career diplomat, was nominated to be US Ambassador to Sierra Leone on July 10, 2013. This is of grave concern in relation to the current Ebola virus spreading in West Africa. If there had been a US Ambassador serving in Sierra Leone, could diplomacy have urged a faster response to this crisis? With US aid pouring in to help fight the crisis, we need a leader in place NOW to oversee an effective response. It's only common sense!
Urge Senate leaders to work together to confirm nominee John Hoover as US Ambassador to Sierra Leone, and prioritize the confirmation of all the vetted US Ambassador nominees. Please sign and pass on to friends TODAY.
