On May 6, 2021, in the early morning hours, Our sweet Nina Cumbest was involved in a hit and run accident by her ex boyfriend and his vehicle. She sustained traumatic injuries and is fighting for her life right now. This is not the first time she has been attacked by her ex. The ex was due to be in court May 10, 2021 for another Domestic Violence charge, against Nina, that had happened weeks prior to this current incident. However when arrested and appeared in front of a judge, the judge let him out on bail. This gave him the opportunity to try and kill her while out on bond.

We are in a backwards state of Mississippi that DOES NOT have Domestic Violence Laws to where the attacker is held accountable and our women/men stay in fear because there is no protection with just only a breakable restraining order. They only consider it an assault charge and it's a misdemeanor. We need this to become a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGE for ATTEMPTED MURDER/MURDER instead of the attacker getting a slap on the wrist.
