Free Joseph K. Holiday

The Issue

Joseph K. Holiday, serving a life sentence for a crime of which there is:

  • No physical evidence
  • No weapon
  • No credible witnesses
  • No motive
  • No prior convictions
  •  Hung jury

As of May 4th 2015, The Honorable Judge  Forrest Al Johnson, Jr. granted Joesph's H.B. Declaratory  Judgement Petition for Parole Recommendation.  Within this order he stated "Joseph has done a sufficient amount of time".  Judge Johnson also stated that he "strongly recommends parole for Joseph K. Holiday. Yet the Mississippi Dept. of Corrections Records Dept. unlawfully refuses to acknowledge the Court's Order, essentially denying Mr. Holiday the opportunity of parole.   Since the age of 19, this man has spent his entire 20's, 30's and now at the age of 40 still awaiting Freedom.  Mr. Holiday needs as much public support as possible to achieve freedom. Please help end his incarceration!

The local Mississippi Newspaper described the two witnesses used to convict this young man as "Dubious Witnesses-Doubtful people with no credibility or real character"  One of the witnesses was actually the first suspect arrested for the crime!  The second witness testified that she had been a  life-long mental patient under guardianship.   She went on to testify that she had been committed to the State mental hospital several times.   Surely, a 19 yr old should not have been convicted on the testimony of these individuals. After 3 trials the second ending in a hung jury, Joseph was ultimately found guilty and sentenced to Life in the Mississippi State Penitentiary. Currently,

Joseph is an Education Mentor at Marshall County Correctional Facility.  He strives to help others better themselves.  He has mentored hundreds of inmates in MRT (Moral Training), Job Readiness and Anger Management classes.   With all the facts surrounding this case certainly anyone would agree he has paid his debt to society.

Most recently several individuals heard Mr. Holidays story via way of an internet radio station "MUSIC TALKS" they decided to address the public and anyone willing to listen to this horrible act of Justice. THE FACTS THAT SHOULD BE MOST IMPORTANT WAS THAT THERE WERE 2 WITNESSES ACTUALLY SITTING IN THE VEHICLE WITH THE VICTIM WHEN HE WAS SHOT... THE VICTIM WAS IN THE DRIVER SEAT AND HIS FRONT SEAT PASSENGER, TESTIFIED THAT HE NEVER SAW HOLIDAY IN HIS LIFE.... UNTIL THAT DAY IN COURT!!! The back seat passenger of the victim told the Chief Investigator that shooter was, quote, " tall, slim, deadlines with an Afro...." unquote...... The exact description of the un-credible witness that testified that he fled the scene of the crime!!! SURELY, THE 2 PEOPLE THAT WERE PASSENGERS OF THE DRIVER THAT WAS SHOT, ONE DIRECTLY BESIDE, THE OTHER DIRECTLY BEHIND THE VICTIM HAVE THE MOST RELIABLE, CREDIBLE DESCRIPTION THAN ANYONE ELSE ON EARTH!!!!! THEY BOTH ARE PLEADING FOR MR.HOLIDAYS RELEASE!!!!! Please support this effort to help free Mr. Holiday.
