Don't Cut Down the Forest for Housing

The Issue

We demand that The Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation move their addition to the subdivision elsewhere. Why tear down a whole forest for a few houses? Would it not be easier, and better for our Earth if a few weeds in a practically empty field were to be cut instead of tearing out a whole forest that has been there for longer than we've all been alive? A whole natural environment that's been there for hundreds of years; gone, just like that. There is plenty of space down the road for more housing. Was that not the original plan anyway? Aren't we supposed to reduce our Ecological Footprint? Why are we instead choosing to make it bigger? We need this Earth more than it needs us. We're degenerating the world that we live in; the same world that we all need to survive. This forest needs to stay. Nature is a part of our culture, as well as the animals that live there.

Housing (that can EASILY be constructed down the roaddoes not need to be in this specific area as much as we need the trees for oxygen, the animals, the bugs, the plants, and everything else in this eco-system to help make Earth stronger.

The Earth does not need us. We need Earth. Please save this forest. We can't all deteriorate as one.

"The earth is degenerating these days. Bribery and corruption abound. Children no longer mind parents. Every man wants to write a book, and it is evident that the end of the world is approaching fast."

Please save this forest.
