Missing and Murdered Indigenious Women Crisis

Missing and Murdered Indigenious Women Crisis
The Issue
We have seen violent crime happening in The U.S. and Canada. But it has been affecting one group disproportionally compared to others. Native American Women. There are more people now than ever who are stalking Native American communities and since these communities are sovereign and have no jurisdiction there are people taking advantage of that because they know they can't be prosecuted for crimes committed on the land. So I am making this so you can petition your Senator or Representative To “re-authorize the Violence Against Women Act by passing a bill that incorporates tribal provisions — provisions that would restore jurisdiction stolen by the Supreme Court in its 1978 decision Oliphant v. Suquamish.” Or draw inspiration from this article “https://www.hcn.org/issues/51.12/tribal-affairs-restoring-tribal-criminal-jurisdiction-is-the-first-step-to-stopping-crisis
