Quentin Tarantino Rereleasing Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair in Theaters or on Dvd
The Issue
KILL BILL IS A LANDMARK IN CINEMA AND ONE OF MY FAVORITE FILMS OF ALL TIME.
Quentin Tarantino is a genius. That goes without saying. I am a huge fan of every single piece of work he has created. He has cemented himself as my role model as well as one of the greatest writers/directors of all time.
Anyways, in 2003, God (Tarantino) released Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 the following year. Originally, the film was meant to be one film-- an action epic. However Tarantino was forced to release it in two volumes, also he had to make some tweaks to the film in order to tone down the action. This is why the crazy 88s fight cuts to black and white as the fight just begins. Though, regardless of the changes Tarantino needed to make, the film was still a controversial masterpiece.
At first, Kill Bill premiered in 2003 in the Cannes Film Festival as one whole film approximately 4 hours in length. This cut did not see the light of day until 2011, where screenings of the film took place in New Beverley cinema. The cut was dubbed "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair". This cut featured a House of the Blue Leaves fight that remains in color, an extended anime sequence, as well as a musical intermission. Since 2011, The Whole Bloody Affair ceased to be released again to the public.
Before I move on to my next point, let me just give a brief summary about myself. My name is Jonny Berkowitz and I am a 16 year old film maker in love with the art of cinema. Tarantino was the one who triggered this love for cinema with his god-like film Pulp Fiction. However, back in 2011 I was 11 years old and had yet to find my love of Tarantino. Obviously, this made me unable to see The Whole Bloody Affair, and even if I was who I am now back then, New Beverley Cinema is no where near me.
This then brings me to my request. As a huge fan of Tarantino, I think I speak for the entire fan base in asking that Tarantino should rerelease Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, whether it be a limited screening or on dvd. There is a whole lotta people out there who would love to see this film, especially the hardcore fans, and I think it would make them, and me as well, insanely happy and excited.
So please, Quentin Tarantino, if you ever read this, please rerelease Kill Bill: TWBA.
I encourage others to spread the word about this petition and try to get as many signatures as possible in order to get the attention of Tarantino.
