Ultimate Frisbee as an MSHSL-Sanctioned Sport

The Issue

Ultimate Frisbee is an up-and-coming sport across the globe, especially here in the United States and, more specifically, in Minnesota. Many high school students across the state have an interest in playing Ultimate, but there is little incentive to play organized games unless there is someone in the town or city willing to put this together. Making Ultimate an MSHSL-sanctioned sport would give students another viable option to keep in shape and also help to teach skills used in already-sanctioned sports like soccer, football, basketball, etc. It requires very little equipment, and space that already exists for other sports.

Making Ultimate an MSHSL-sanctioned sport would allow more students who haven't found a home in other sports the chance to get active and find a sport to call their own. As a result, more students would be physically active and, on the business side of things, allow the MSHSL and its individual schools to bring in revenue from games and tournaments.

I ask you to sign this petition to help proliferate Ultimate throughout Minnesota and to help give our youth another option to stay physically fit for years to come.
