This petition is for those who support a public opportunity to hunt moose in Minnesota. Limited tribal moose hunting has continued, but the people of Minnesota have not had a public moose hunting opportunity since 2012. 

This effort is being led by Minnesota Bowhunters - MBI. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization started in 1946.

Representative Isaac Shultz introduced the following bill last session. We would like to see similar bills introduced in the House and Senate to reinstate our moose season. We are not requesting an archery only opportunity, and we will be showing up to testify in favor. 

HF 1333 - Moose license lottery and auction required, moose research account established, fees established, and money appropriated.

The above bill did not make it into committee in the 2025 legislative session. We are going to push hard to see this passed next session. 

Managed hunting is by far the best tool for wildlife management, and the allocation of only four tags would help pump interest and resources into supporting our moose population.
