Stop the Snaring of ALL Wildlife in MN

Stop the Snaring of ALL Wildlife in MN
The Issue
Dear Readers,
Minnesota has a vast landscape full of wildlife of all sorts from the cities to the country sides. Snares, a trapping method used by hunters, started off in the early 1800's when it was harder to receive food. The real question is: WHY is this cruel and inhumane method still used today? Snares cause all sorts of animals, including pets and even humans in some cases, to be trapped in suffocating, metal wire that penetrates the skin until the animal dies in slow, unbearable pain. Though many animals survive snares, many are only to die from secondary causes such as infections and amputations. There is no reason to be so cruel to the wildlife we Minnesotans try so hard to keep thriving and cherish. STOP THE ACT OF SNARING IN MN! Twenty other states have already made it illegal, so why can't Minnesota be the twenty-first? We need to show our lawmakers what side we all know we are on! The animals side! We have the facts, science, but not the politics! Become a supporter!
Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Elyse Zegoski

Howling For Wolves, a non-profit organization in MN, introduced legislation in February 2015 to ban snaring of all Minnesota wildlife. Contact your MN senator and representative and ask them to support Senate File #592, the bill to ban snaring.
To find your two legislators, go to http://www.gis.leg.mn/OpenLayers/districts/ enter your address and locate the two lawmakers with MN House and MN Senate after their names.
For talking points on snaring, see: http://www.howlingforwolves.org/sites/default/files/LegislativeAgenda2015_MN.pdf.
Remember, everyone can also ask MN Governer Dayton to ban snaring: http://mn.gov/governor/contact-us/form/
Please directly call/email your state lawmakers today. Each will have a vote on whether to allow or ban snaring of all wildlife in MN. Tell them to vote to ban snaring. Here's the link to find out who represents you in MN. Contact those with MN House and MN Senate after their name (they alone have power to ban snaring). http://www.gis.leg.mn/OpenLayers/districts/;
