Reform the Minneapolis city council
Reform the Minneapolis city council
The Issue
In order to save money and to make the city council more responsive to the residents of Minneapolis, this petition is asking the following revisions be put on the ballet to allow voters to decide how the council should be structured.
1-reduce the number of council members to nine. That is more in line with other cities in the US.
2-reduce the council members salaries to $75,000 per year.
3-add a process to recall council members if they fail to meet their responsibilities.
