Why this petition matters

Started by Sumit Mondal

Saswati Jana, was an innocent girl who was sexually assaulted and brutally murdered by a group of labourers; two men and their accomplice, a woman. Saswati was only 20 years old and a 2nd-year college student from Jamna (Medinipur, West Bengal). She went through an unspeakable nightmare and lost her life in the hands of three depraved brutal individuals in her own home.

The three workers carried out this horrible crime inside an abandoned part of the house. The culprits raped her, suffocated her, and dumped her bloodied body on the floor. The culprits had scratches on them from where Saswati had tried to fight back.

Saswati's family is in so much pain and extremely devastated after losing their beloved daughter. Now no one is speaking a word or raising their voice against this. Being a silent spectator won't help her get justice. Her family wants the people involved to be tried in court and brought to justice as soon as possible. This is where they need your help in the matter.

So let's do our part and raise our voice. I urge you to sign this petition and share it as much as possible so that her voice and story are heard. Justice needs to be served and the perpetrators who ended Saswati's life in this brutal manner should receive the harshest punishment. That should also act as a deterrent to future crimes against women. If we don't raise our voice these culprits and others will not stop and will further continue to commit such heinous crimes. We need to ensure the safety of ALL women; our Mothers, Daughters, and loved ones. This should not be violated. #JusticeForSaswati #JusticeForSaswatiJana
