It's a wake up call.Another Nirbhaya in Kerala,still counting...

The Issue

The shocking and brutal killing of law student – Jisha, really passed out a massive outrage in kerala and other states. The crime was so heinous that it is said to be scarier than Delhi bus gang rape A 30-year old law student, lived in that one-room house in Perumbavoor, Kerala, on the roadside with her mother after her father left the family years before. She was a student at Ernakulum Law College and had three papers left to clear. For five days after the incident, no local media outlet reported the incident and no police case were registered. She was found in a pool of blood — raped, her body had received around 20 cuts and her private parts had been slashed open with a large weapon, exposing her intestines and other abdominal organs. To ensure she wouldn’t live, the murderers smothered and strangled her using a piece of her own clothing till her last breath. There were also marks on the back of her head from blows she had suffered, and deep cuts on her chin, chest and neck. Incident occurred in 28 April, 2016 till date culprit is beyond police approach. She was brutally murder at perceived safety of her own home. It’s a failure of our law making governance and society. I appeal to Kerala Chief Minister - Shri Oommen Chandy to take immediate action against all authorities who fail to perform their duties during investigation. As per Local TV Channel, Manorama News – Jisha’s mother had lodged complaint at the local police station citing threat to her life and her children, but no action was taken. She also lodge complained at Vanita Police station too. Then why the law governing body fails to save the life of Jisha. In recent time, cases of assault and rape have been raised within our country, every day we read in news paper about such incident. The victim trauma just becomes numbers in data. Now it’s high time to raise the voice against criminal minds. Why should we as women live in fear in our own country? We need speedy action and speedy judgment in all such case, there were amendments made in 2013.But nothing has changed many nirbhaya’s are brutally killed in our country daily. Our law has fail create fear among the criminal minds, instead criminals has created fear among women in our country. We want speedy trials & Judgement and capital punishment , so as to bring fear among the criminal minds and serving term in jail won't justify the punishment. Its high time to bring the rapist and such brutal killings under bracket of "Capital Punishment"
