Dominic Fike has recently released a statement regarding his previous conviction of 'battery' of a police officer and having read his statement as well as the official police statement, this conviction is unjustified and disallows this musician to Tour and perform in the UK. This is devastating for not only me but his fans that are based here and it is very unlikely that any one of us here are able to buy a plane ticket to wherever he is touring and go to see him live and I don't want anyone to miss out on this opportunity. I care because he was actually just trying to defuse a situation with the police and his younger brother, which is an instinct that we all have when it comes to any family member - to help and to defend. He served 8 months in jail for a crime he did not commit and as a result is not able to share his art in the UK. This hurts my heart and I want this to change, desperately. I am committed to putting this wrong right. I feel that this not only has to do with his race but in addition to that is a clear representation of what we all have witnessed in recent weeks regarding those in authority and those who take advantage of that authority. It is not ok and I can't stand to see Dominic Fike unable to perform in this country because of something he didn't do. Please help and support this petition.
