Dynamic cutoff percentage for entrance exams depending on Universities

Dynamic cutoff percentage for entrance exams depending on Universities
The Issue
I was an above average students since my childhood scoring more that 80% in both my 10th and 12th and being brought up in Bokaro Steel City, I always aspire to join SAIL,India but after studying in Pune University(PU) I could make an aggregate of just 62% which made me in-eligible to even appear for their entrance exam which need you to get an aggregate of 65%.
Thousands of students like me, who are graduating from Pune University is suffering because of the low percentage they are able to score. The cutoff percentage for PSUs, Indian Navy and Airforce are 65% and 70% respectively, which is a cake walk for many of my friends studying in different universities across India . But, getting a 65% & 70% is a rare observation in Pune University. This can be verified if some analysis is done on the results from various universities and the number of students falling in criteria greater than 60% is numbered .
The number is very less for Pune University.
Hence, many who aspire to join PSUs or Navy or Airforce, have to shatter their dream just because they studied in PU.
- A more insight can be seen if we compare various MNCs coming for placement interviews to colleges in PU. Many of them lower their eligibility criteria to more than 5-10% .
- In 2012, Broadridge Financial ltd. visited our college(MIT,PUNE) with an eligibility criteria of 55% whereas for most of the places across India, it had a cutoff of 70%.
- MNC's like Cognizant,Infosys and Accenture, comes with an eligibility criteria of 55%. Delloite visit PU with a requirement of 60% aggregate.
- Just to make a rough comparison , I am currently doing my masters from Birla Institute of Technology and is currently standing at 8.5 CGPA which makes my equivalent percentage to 85% which is far more than what I could score at my graduation.
I hope I made my point clear that, because of this tough marking scheme in PU, many of the students are suffering and are not able to chose a path for their career which a guy with similar IQ can easily attempt studying somewhere else and hence this is a kind of indirect biasing which should be removed to give an equal opportunity for everyone to compete at the entrance.
Hence, I propose the scheme of DYNAMIC CUTOFF PERCENTAGE OF ELIGIBILITY TO VARIOUS ENTRANCE EXAMS which should account the university a student is studying from.
