MBBS is known to be the most rigorous undergraduate course all over the world. After cracking tough entrances like NEET, AIIMS, JIPMER, etc., the ministry is planning yet another examination called "National Exit Exam(NEXT)" to acquire "Dr." title to ensure quality and create a level playing field for medical colleges in the country (and foreign graduates). The medical fraternity needs breakthrough reforms such as dilution of MCI structure not just petty reforms in order to enhance the quality of medical education. This draft which has already been passed in the Parliament will only increase the plight of MBBS students which are already into much pressuring and industrious routine. So this idea needs to be dropped completely because the five and a half year tenure of MBBS is already exceeding the general time period of a undergraduate course.
