I just want to take a moment to thank you all for your support regarding my petition, it means the world to me. I have finally had a few free extra minutes to look over the comments below, and I feel sad to see how many of you are suffering, and not knowing where to turn anymore. My goal in all of this is to ensure that we are heard, and to provide as much assistance that I am able to provide to all of you. I know that I have started this journey, and I also know that these changes will not happen overnight but they will happen as I will not give up until they do. But I still feel that we all need something right now, therefore I have decided to create a support group, for woman, and family who are suffering from either Lipedema or Lymphedema. Not only would I like to create a online support group available to all, but I would also like to set something up in my area where we can meet once a week for a hour to a hour and a half, and share our stories, and be there for each other. I feel that its not only important for us to have this support system, but also for our families as we know how much this disease effects everyone who is involved. I know that for some to be able to attend physically can be hard to do, and that is why I would like to incorporate both online and real life meetings, allowing everyone to have access to this group regardless of your limitations, as so far in my research...I have yet to find one support group in my area, and this is something we so desperately need. I would like to extend an invite to all of my ladies, and their families to be a part of this, and once I am set up to utilize this service to your fullest. I am currently setting up the new support group webpage, and as soon as it is complete I will paste the link right here, as well as on all my other pages if you are following them as well. that's step one. In order for me to set up a support group in my area, I would like to see roughly how many of you would be interested in this program so that I am able to find the right space to have these meetings based on how many would like to attend. I would like for any of you who reside in Brantford Ontario or the surrounding area who is interested, to please either comment below your interest for this program to be available in your area, where you live, and your email address. and what time of the day would be easier for you to accommodate to attend the meetings. (morning, afternoon, or evenings) so that I can contact each of your personally, and make this amazing opportunity for us a reality. If there are any ladies in the area that would like to attend our Lipedema/ Lymphodema support group sessions, but you are concerned about accessibility, I want to assure you that I will make certain that I will choose a building that is fully accessible for all. We will also have some groups where I will request special guests to attend, such as massage therapists, lipedema specialists, compression garments information sessions, as well as information on new treatments that we are working on to become available in Ontario that could change our lives! Remember ladies...... strength is in numbers, and if we can band together, our voices will be much louder and much harder for the world to ignore us..... it is time that we make some noise!
