The Issue

.
For the last 2 weeks, there was a continuous gas leakage in a oil well in Baghjan, Tinsukia, Assam. No strong measures were taken either by the state government or the central government to control the leakage. .
3 experts from Singapore arrived just 3 days back and visited the site. And yesterday, this was the condition. The well has caught fire. It is burning down houses, crops, animals everything.
.
No national media is covering the same news with the required intensity the way they were broadcasting "Amazon rainforest wildfire" ; only a few in mainstream India knows about this incident.
.
At least 2,000 people have been evacuated as state-owned Oil India Ltd (OIL) struggles to control a massive eruption or blowout from one of its producing wells in Baghjan oilfield in Upper Assam’s Tinsukia district.
.
Natural gas continued to gush out from the leak for the fourth straight day on May 30, 2020.
.
The leak has contaminated water bodies that flow into the Maguri Motapung Beel, a large wetland, and the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park (DSNP).
.
Dibru-Saikhowa, one beautiful national park & animals inside it are getting burnt.. what a pathetic situation ! Let's pray for the people & animals over there who had to bear the brunt of such negligence.
