Close all schools in Kuwait

Close all schools in Kuwait

The Issue

Covid cases have increased almost four times more than what it was in July of 2021. Parents are scared to send their children to schools in the fear of their children getting sick.

On January 9th, 2022, 1,500 students, teachers, and school workers were infected with coronavirus, (link-https://www.arabtimesonline.com/news/1500-students-teachers-and-school-workers-infected-with-coronavirus/ and yet the Ministry of Education is not ready to close schools. If a child gets affected with covid, it can spread faster to another person, and sometimes the covid symptoms are not visible. Social distancing won't help in schools as students are still at risk of getting covid. And what if the student is covid positive and misses his/her exams? Schools won't take responsibility; it's the child who is losing marks. When the situation became better, they didn't open schools, and now, when it's at its worst, they are opening schools and telling students to come, knowing how fast the new covid mutation (omicron) is spreading faster. On January 13th, 4.8 thousand cases have come and Kuwait says that distance learning was a thing in the past; the UAE on the other hand, switched to distance learning for 2 weeks when the cases were over one thousand.
