Indian Army does not need to clean garbage of tourists
0 have signed. Let’s get to 15,000!
The Indian Armed Forces are meant to be a fighting and protection force. While they need to do their bit to keep their area clean and hygienic, it is NOT their job to clean the mess created by tourists. Directing them to ensure the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan is going forward by making them clean high altitude areas is NOT OKAY and is demeaning.
Edit (22/09/17): The order now has PAN INDIA application and not just for high altitude areas. Are the municipal corporations this incompetent or is the present government wishing to portray our men in uniform as street cleaners? Information from reliable sources tell me that tomorrow a team of army officers and men will be cleaning (armed with brooms) a village near Delhi. What the actual hell???
We wish the PMO, Defence Ministry and the Defence Minister of India to make a statement and cancel these directives.
