Over 1 million plastic bags are released in Hungary per day, and 60% of this gets used. Unfortunately almost none of this gets recycled, beacouse most recycling companies mostly focus on PET bottles and most of the time these bags don't even reach the selective collectors. This means that in Hungary almost 600 000 plastic bags go to waste every day, and each one takes 10-1000 years to decompose. The production of these bags is alredy harming enough for our environment, after these are thrown out they harm our planet and animals even more.

The undersigned of this petition call on the Prime Minister and the goverment to ban the selling of plastic bags in every shop and supermarket, especially in department stores which hand out an even higher amount of plastic.
