The Cow Production in New Zealand takes an enormous place in our economy, agricultural land and it has many damaging impacts on cows. In 2020 alone, more than 4 million (dairy and beef) cows were slaughtered in New Zealand.  It is reported that NZ is the world's biggest exporter of dairy globally.

The high rate of cow consommation dramatically affects our use of land and soil and it leaves people in need impoverished. It also unbalances other important and sustainable parts of agriculture.

It also has many negative consequences on every aspect of our society, such as environmental impacts: unbalanced use of water, use of soil, increase of gas emission on our atmosphere, deforestation, biodiversity loss, and impacts on our people: health impacts on people, increase of diseases, psychological trauma for farmers, financial impacts and many others. And of course, it make cows have short and unhappy lives, reduced them to slaves with no soul. 

With this petition, my goal is to induce pressure on the Ministry of Agriculture to upgrade the actual policy called 'Animal Welfare Act' which, unfortunately, does not prevent cruelty on cows in New Zealand. Please sign if you believe in positive change on our cows consumption in Aotearoa!
