Good Evening Respected Minister Sri.G.Sudhakaran,
This is to inform you about the pathetic condition of roads in Kerala generally, especially in Palakkad District (ottapalam-cherpulassery, Kongad-Thoota, cherpulassery, Pattambi-ottapalam, Koppam-Ottapalam etc.)
Roads are the backbone of a state/district, though this is a known fact, our road conditions are so bad, it is beyond explanation. Roads, where repair works were carried out few months ago, has gone with the rain. In the above mentioned roads, now there are lots of huge potholes. Even in State high ways, this is a usual sight. This has become really life threatening. So many accidents took place & many have lost their life in the recent past.
If at all excessive rainfall is quoted as one of the reasons for the current bad condition of roads, public might not agree with this as there is an excellent road that withstood the heavy rain which is none other than Kolappully-Palakakd road that was constructed by PATI-BEL, an Indo-Malaysian joint venture. For the last one dozen years, it is intact despite the climatic conditions.
All those who own a vehicle (two-wheeler, four-wheeler) have already paid life tax for the next 15 years & the benefit that we public reap out of this is beyond imagination even. Public believes, it is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure good road conditions so that ROAD accidents that arises out of bad road conditions are addressed. I would request you to please see Mathrubhumi dated 5th August 2018 page number 6 where there is an article named (THAKARUNNA ROADUKAL ADHIKRITHARUDE NISSANGATHAYUM).
Hope you would consider this positively, give it ample importance and do the needful within the shortest possible time.
