Save our Green Space (Inglewood Primary School)

Save our Green Space (Inglewood Primary School)
The issue
The proposal being pushed past families, residents and the local Council is an ugly 2 storey building that will reduce the only green space at Inglewood PS by roughly 30% – Kids just can’t play on grass anytime they want – A roster currently dictates when kids can play on the oval and with this proposal, will have 30% less space and time to run and kick the footy if Peter Collier gets his way. Over 400 kids fight for space today- they will have less to share with more kids jammed on to our local school.
KIDS AT RISK - Independent Traffic Management Review clearly indicates major traffic and parking issues that are yet to be rectified – review dated 3 Oct 2016 and that’s before another 30% kids and cars jam the streets.
City of Stirling has already rejected the proposal – BUT have been overruled by the State Government.
Its Ugly - Heritage laws in your neighbourhood are being contravened.
Department of Education claim student numbers in the School Intake area will increase by 30%. Since 2013, only 6 extra students have enrolled from the same intake area, yr 7s now go to secondary schools – where will the extra 162 kids and families in Inglewood come from Mr Collier? Does the school really need a 2 storey structure more than play space?
Community consultation has been overlooked and now ignored - Peter Collier and his department are pushing ahead regardless of these concerns raised by the Community. Try get an answer from “the Government”- seems like they are all ducking for cover and deferring to others.
This is a major concern for the health and safety in accommodating 600+ children and staff and residents.
Don’t let the Minister strip back play space at your community school – voice your concern over the concrete creep and SIGN to SAVE THE PLAY SPACE
The solution - the WA Government can and must stop the construction to be constructed on to the oval and work with the local community, parents, teachers and students to find a solution that preserves our play space.
