Raising the speed limit on a highway designed for a maximum speed limit of 80km/h can be disastrous. Many lives are lost to speeding on our nations highways that could have been avoided by driving at a safer speed. The reality is that people in Trinidad & Tobago have been dying for decades at 100-120km/h on average. The police finally have the tools at their disposal to enforce the law. Let them do their jobs of enforcing a reasonable safe speed on the highway.
