The Tamil Nadu state board had introduced a new syllabus for the students of Class XI. The portions present in them are voluminous and are new to many. Considering the volume of portions, more time was expected to be given to the students and the teachers to prepare for the board exams. But the time given by the state board was less with respect to the volume of the content. The students received their new books only by June which consisted only of the first volume. The second volume arrived later. There was no time for the teachers to complete the portions well in advance before the board exams. Majority of the schools completed the portions only during the month of February. There was no model papers except the one released by the Government available. The guides which assist students to read had less content and less variety of questions. Even the blue print system was abolished to which many of the students were practiced to. As we are the first batch of this new syllabus, we demand lenient correction of our Annual Papers and we request the Government to make sure that the teachers get the new books soon and also the students so that our performances shall be better in the next academic year.
