Petition updateINJURED BLACK BEAR REQUIRES MEDICAL ASSISTANCEIn Memory of Russell and Charlie...let their deaths not be in vain

Our beloved Russell first brought the attention of the public to the fact that The Alberta Government did not allow rehabilitation of Black Bears, among other species.  Russell was left to die without assistance of humans, who most likely put him in that very position.  We have made a positive step in that, now, the Alberta Government allows rehabilitation of Black Bears.   Unfortunately, Charlie, the first Black Bear cub to be rehabilitated in Alberta in over 8 years was shot and killed just 12 days after his release back into the wild. This was due to several factors; including, a poorly chosen release site, separation of the bear cubs, the government refusing to consider the advise of rehabilitation experts.   Please sign the next petition that continues the fight for the souls who have no voice.

Please watch and share the documentary of Charlie and Maskwa.  Humans need to learn to co-exist with our precious wildlife and they need to be educated.  This documentary provides insight to the background of our fight that must continue, and provides some heartwarming footage of these cubs during their time at The Cochrane Ecological Institute.

The Bears thank you for your support.
