In a last ditch attempt to save Sarah's grave from mounding, we wrote to the Secretary of State for Justice, Robert Buckland in early April, asking him to investigate the brutal mounding process.

Incredibly, I heard late yesterday from the MoJ Coroners Burials and Cremations Policy Team that our letter of the had not been received! I don't understand how this could have happened. It was both emailed to and hard copies were posted. It has now been sent again.

We had supporting signatories to our letter from numerous MPs, Peers, Academics, Unions and Historians, including Angela Rayner Shadow First Secretary of State. Mayor Biggs, Tower Hamlets, has written to the MoJ in support of our campaign and Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz, along with Stephen Timms MP, Lyn Brown MP and Unmesh Desai (London Assembly) wrote a letter to the Cemetery.

With mounding at Manor Park due to start this month, I hope the MoJ will put a hold on the work pending an independent inspection.

Sarah Chapman made it to the national BBC news on Radio 4 and Radio 2 today and is on the BBC Website! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-52947267
