Don't forget, the Matchgirls are part of the BBC Proms this month. It's a world premier of a composition by Hannah Kendall called 'The Spark Catchers'. This piece was inspired by a poem of the same name by Lemn Sissay. The poem is Lemn's reaction to his reading about the Matchgirls Strike. The poem is engraved as permanent artwork at the QE Olympic Park in London, not far from the Bryant and May factory in Bow.
