For the last several months Maori and people of color have been subjected to the most horrid tirade of abuse both online and across social media platforms by people such as Lee Williams. Mr Williams, as an example, was not born in Aotearoa New Zealand instead he migrated here as a mature aged adult with the full knowledge that Maori are the first nations people. Since arrival he has denigrated our culture, language and customs. On any level residency is not a right and is afford to those who meet struct criteria under the immigration act. The criteria is key:

"Applicants for all visas must be of good character, not pose a security risk and not threaten New Zealand’s international reputation."

"People with serious character issues can’t be granted any visa or entry permission, except in very special circumstances."

In the case of Lee Williams he has failed that test and this is a call to the Minister of Immigration to revoke his residency and have him removed from the country. This is a petition that is about keeping Aotearoa safe from racial disunity, hate, hate speech and individuals such as this.
