The UGC's new guidelines for Universities to conduct the final semester / year examination and scrapping of other exams comes as a surprise to the student community in the wake of the global pandemic COVID 19. The number of cases that are coming to light everyday has kept everyone at worry.

It is known that a college will receive students from many places. As we all are aware, the GOI had imposed lock down to contain the spread and now it is in the unlock period. Hence most of the students have turned to their homes away from their colleges.

Now that the UGC has asked the Universities to conduct the exams, in Online / Offline / blended mode, we the students belonging to Computer Applications (B.C.A and M.C.A) urge the Government and Universities, that the final exams which are project presentations, should be conducted through online mode. While we have already been through many number of Online presentations in front of esteemed panel of Professors showcasing the work that has been carried out. 

If conducted in offline mode, students from different places will have to travel back to colleges for a presentation which will last an hour for a student. The risk of getting exposed to the virus is really high. While writing this the GOK has imposed a 8 days lock down again in urban and rural Bengaluru . And the future is very uncertain. We sincerely urge the UGC, Higher Education Minister and also Universities across to conduct final year exams of B.C.A and M.C.A through online mode.
