Closing the Morinville lab would be doing a disservice to the Town of Morinville, and it's residents. Some immediate concerns are as follows: 

1.) Many seniors in the town of Morinville uses this location as they do not have the ability to travel to St. Albert. In addition, there are many others who aren't seniors who do not have access to transportation. Furthermore, many residents use the lab on a frequent basis, closing the clinic limits their ability to get timely appointments that are needed on regular intervals 

2.) Booking appointments in St.Albert often causes significant wait times, and those locations appear to be at their capacity at all times. Closing this location will further burden the St. Albert locations 

3.) Morinville has a growing population, not only residents of Morinville use this location, but also residents of nearby communities, such as Alexander Reserve, Legal, Riviere Que Barre, to name a few 

4.) Mr. Nally, our current MLA, had commented on social media stating the clinic hasn't seen a patient since February, 2020. I dont believe he provided enough context considering the x-ray services have been closed (broken) for over a year; so perhaps his intended message was speaking to the x-ray services, not the lab services provided

Residents of Morinville should have had the opportunity to dispute the closure before it was announced. Why wasn't the public consulted first? 

Please take the time to read through the comments that residents of Morinville and Sturgeon County have brought forward . 

Please do the right thing and ensure the lab remains open.
