A lot of people have recently become parents first time. Most of them are young couples, immigrants in Ireland, working and paying tax in Ireland. The new mothers need help post delivery - all the husbands are taking time-off for some time and helping their spouse, however the new mothers need extended help. They want to bring their parents over visit visa, unfortunately the visit visas are not being issued at the moment. All these Non- EU grandparents are fully vaccinated, with the vaccines recognised in the EU.

At the same time, Ireland has been opening up for last few months. Grand parents in Ireland not able to meet their new born grand sons/daughters was a very emotional moment. Fortunately, Irish government is allowing inter-county travel for last many months now. The non-EU grand parents also have the same emotions towards their new born grand son/daughters in Ireland. They want to meet them, but unfortunately the Irish Embassy is not allowing visit visas for grand parents. It is really unfortunate and heart breaking to see that Irish grand parents emotions are considered by the Irish government but emotions of non-EU grand parents are being ignored.

When the grand parents are fully vaccinated, could they be given visit visas please, so that they can travel to Ireland to meet their new family members.
