After 4 weeks - Bear the wombat has finally started to get up and explore. Unfortunately his family have been left to die a slow death by being buried alive. Bear was found near the squashed/compacted burrows and was found to have had his eye shot out and 2 bullets lodged next to his hear. Bear unfortunately, can't have surgery for the bullets however, his mouth is really deformed from the impact so he needs ongoing dental work plus regular x-rays to monitor the movement of the bullets. Bear will not be able to integrate to the big Sanctuary at Wombat Awareness Org, however, with your help they will be able to build another smaller sanctuary area for him and others like him that cannot be integrated to the wider sanctuary due to his health issues.
