Deterrents were put on the lights on the bridge to stop the pelicans from roosting.The birds are still trying to use them as a perch but cant sit only stand. They are forced to use their wings to stabilize themselves This is hazardous for the pelicans and it is causing them to stand unnaturally, Therefore the deterrents are ineffective and dangerous. This bridge is part of a sanctuary for migratory birds which should be protected. They have used the bridge as a roost for  28 years. The locals miss and love our iconic pelicans. We want to them back on the bridge as our token of the remarkable wildlife sanctuary.
