Despite the passing of legislation 3 years ago, the Irish state has not yet commenced the provisions of the Children and Family Relationships Act 2015 that relate to donor-assisted human reproduction ("DAHR").

This delay has left many children, in particular, those born to same-sex couples, in a vulnerable position as their existing family relationships are not be recognised in the eyes of the law.
