Contact Your Alderpersons NOW Before Final Common Council Vote Monday
Thanks to an important endorsement by a city committee, the Milwaukee Common Council is now scheduled to vote this Monday on an ordinance that would make mask wearing required in public spaces.
Your alderperson and Mayor Tom Barrett need to know NOW that you support the ordinance. Please click on this link to send them a short but necessary email. It’s easy and will take less than five minutes.
And check out these great testimonial videos — with a click, you can share one on your Facebook page to encourage your friends to do the same.
You can read about the discussion and the vote of endorsement Wednesday at Milwaukee Common Council’s Public Safety and Health Committee below and here. You can also watch a video of the meeting here. You’ll see that our city leaders are rising to the occasion despite some opposition as more and more aldermen and the community support a mask requirement to protect Milwaukee’s residents. This petition alone has almost 15,000 signers!
Now is the time to send your alderperson and the mayor an email to make sure our voices are truly heard at City Hall. With your help, we will hopefully see a majority of the council vote “yes” on the ordinance this Monday, and Mayor Barrett signing it into law.
