This petition calls on Milton Keynes Council, as owners of Milton Keynes Development Partnership, to overturn the decision to take over the Buszy car park, and help ensure that the project can remain open.

The Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP), wholly owned by MK Council,  have decided to take over the car park next to the Buszy, which is a major source of income for the Make a Difference foundation who operate there. This means that MaD can no longer afford to cover the annual running costs, and The Buszy will close in November.

The Buszy is a much loved social enterprise, and home to youth clubs for disabled children, adult education classes, and hosts of many varied leisure activities. All profits are reinvested back into projects for young people, and it is widely regarded as a cornerstone of community engagement in Milton Keynes. 

While central government cuts to local council budgets have hit Milton Keynes hard, taking over this car park to raise revenue is not in the best interests of the community. The voluntary and charitable sector is already facing threats to funding; community projects such as the Buszy are a source of much needed support to many families across Milton Keynes, and must be protected.
