My petition is important because my town needs a park that is safe for skateboarders and bikers to enjoy. Recent renovations were done about 6 months ago but the man who tried to fix the park actually made it much worse. All of the ramps fell apart quickly , not to mention he failed to even fully fix the skatepark. There is holes, cracks, and nails sticking up in the very few ramps that are still in-tact. Milford's park department looked at what was actually usable in the park as junk and a big liability. Everyday, skateboarders, bikers and rollerbladers are getting kicked out of areas around Milford for doing what they do, but who is to blame ? This town needs a safe environment for kids to do what they love and not get in trouble for it. Back when the Milford skatepark was in good condition, it attracted many skaters/bikers from surrounding towns and gave many teens a safe place to enjoy recreational activities.
