Mildura Rural City Council: Prioritise the Mildura Motorsports Complex

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

This a petition to the Mildura Rural City Council to make the Mildura Motorsports Complex the number 1 priority for the region and continue to show on going public support to the proposed facility.

The Motorsport complex will be one of the largest projects ever to hit our region with the potential for motorsports to inject $61.7+ Million annually to our local economy and create hundreds of extra jobs for our region.

Economic benefits for the region have been estimated at $723m and 885 Jobs over 30 years which would give the district a much needed major boost and diversify our economy.

The biggest beneficiaries to a complex of this magnitude will not just be the local motorsport enthusiasts but the local Motels and Caravan Parks, Restaurants and Retail stores, Tourism as well as the local community.

As a motorsport enthusiast and participant I have seen first-hand the economic benefit that complexes like the proposed have done for other regions in Australia and also International.

This will be much more than just a circuit racing track, as it will be a multi-use complex that will also attract car and motorcycle clubs and enthusiasts from across the country.

Events can include national and state level motor racing events, car club sprint events, bike track days, motoring festivals, classic car events, defensive driver training, motorkhanas, drifting, power cruises and Summernats style events, potentially bringing hundreds of thousands of extra visitors to the area each year.

A dedicated facility can also be utilised to discourage ‘hoon’ behavior on the streets and onto a controlled environment.

The Mildura Rural City Council have already put together a very strong business case but still needs ongoing community support as well as support from the national motor racing community to help push for Government and Private Investor funding.

This major project is quite unique, unlike other community projects currently in planning as the Motorsport Complex will generate its own revenue, be profitable, self-sufficient and not a continual expense to the rate payers of the area and provide an economic boost like no other project.

Despite being a number of circuit racing cars in Sunraysia, there is no circuit racing complex in this region which makes Mildura the ideal location being ideally located between Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney and along with having the ideal climate.

There are many car clubs around Australia that have shown their intent to travel to our area should we have such a facility available.

Participation in Motorsport in North West Victoria is 4 times the national average and we have produced many Australian and World champions including:

Motorcycle Speedway champions Leigh Adams and Jason Crump

Drag Racing champions Darren Morgan and Phil Lamattina

V8 Supercar drivers Cameron Waters, Todd & Rick Kelly

Australian Superbike Champion Josh Waters

Australian Safari Champion John Hedericks

Plus many many more

A project of such significance and economic gain should be Number 1 priority to the Mildura Rural City Council and to the people of Sunraysia, regardless if you are a motorsport enthusiast or not, the benefit to the region will be enormous and probably one of the largest opportunities the Sunraysia area has and will possibly ever see.

Get onto it people, show your support and lets make this happen!!!!
