Thank you to everyone who signed, shared, and showed up in support of this petition. City Council has approved Rezoning Petition 2025-030. While Cooks would not agree to decrease the density of the units, your voices made a real impact in other aspects of the development. Because of this community’s advocacy: An intersection improvement project at Mt. Holly-Huntersville and Bellhaven/Rozzelles Ferry is now in the City’s scoping phase We secured meaningful improvements to the development, including: A single entrance onto Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road Stronger building standards (minimum 60% brick/stone, no vinyl siding) For-sale homes only with limits on rentals Dedicated visitor parking A $100,000 contribution toward intersection improvements These changes will significantly improve the quality of the development and help set a stronger standard for future projects in our area. Most importantly, this effort showed that our community is engaged, organized, and paying attention—and that matters. Thank you again for being part of this!
