To Urge Representative Mike Rogers (AL-03) to oppose the AHCA

This petition had 187 supporters

There is no question that many people who voted for Mike Rogers understood that he would vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act when given the opportunity. What was unknown at the time was what the replacement for the ACA would look like. Now we have some idea. Now we know that the ACA replacement, the American Health Care Act, will cut 4-5 to five years off the solvency of Medicare. What this means is that the American Health Care Act will hurt the financial condition of Medicare. We also know that the replacement bill will change the ratio that insurance companies use to set premiums for older Americans (45-65) who are still working from 3:1 to 5:1. This change along with the decreased subsidies that the bill calls for will result in older working Americans paying significantly higher premiums. By some estimates, premiums for older Americans could increase by $6,000 to $8,000 annually. No one who voted for Mike Rogers in 2016 voted for this kind of harm to Medicare or to older working Americans

If you want Representative Rogers to vote against the American Health Care Act in order to protect Medicare and older working Americans, please sign this petition and share it with other concerned residents of Alabama's 3rd Congressional District.
